Mercedes Abbet, MD, MSHE
Executive Director
Dr. Mercedes Abbet, a distinguished medical doctor and devoted community health specialist, brings over 15 years of experience to Sinclair Health Clinic. Her journey began in Santa Fe, Argentina, where she earned her medical degree from Universidad Nacional de Rosario. After relocating to the United States, she revalidated her medical license and served as a program manager for a non-profit community pharmacy, providing healthcare services to the uninsured in Northern Virginia.
Driven by a passion for addressing healthcare disparities, Mercedes earned a Master of Science in Health Education at Purdue University. She later contributed to implementing and managing a school-based community clinic in rural Virginia, earning recognition for her outstanding achievements.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mercedes demonstrated remarkable resilience as an epidemiologist, bridging healthcare education gaps for the Spanish-speaking community. Her efforts in disseminating crucial information showcased her unwavering capabilities amidst adversity.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Mercedes finds solace in gardening and long-distance running. She values her roles as a mother to two daughters and enjoys running tourism alongside her husband, a Canadian ultrarunner. Dr. Abbet's expertise, advocacy, and commitment to community health make her a valuable asset to Sinclair Health Clinic, embodying the ethos of giving back.
Teri Tomblin
Director of Operations
Teri Tomblin is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in operational leadership and management. As the Director of Operations at Sinclair Health Clinic, Teri plays a pivotal role in optimizing organizational efficiency and driving strategic initiatives. Her leadership and expertise are integral to our commitment to delivering outstanding healthcare services to the community.
Throughout her career, Teri has demonstrated a relentless commitment to operational excellence. She has a proven track record of optimizing workflows, reducing costs, and boosting productivity across the healthcare industry. Her strategic vision and hands-on approach have been instrumental in driving sustainable growth and profitability for the organizations she has served.
Teri is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in business administration, further enhancing her proficiency in business strategy and management. She enjoys spending time with her husband, children and two dogs.
Jennifer Hall
Director of Community Engagement
Jennifer Hall joined the Sinclair Health Clinic team in February 2024 with more than a decade of nonprofit leadership experience. Prior to coming to Sinclair, she served as Senior Director of Community Investment at United Way of Northern where she launched the agency’s flagship program, Valley Assistance Network (VAN) in 2017. Under her leadership, VAN helped more than 13,000 families connect with $2.4 million in financial assistance. During COVID-19, her team was instrumental in getting rent, mortgage, and utility assistance to people in need.
Jennifer was a founding member of the Housing Coalition of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Coalition, and currently serves in leadership roles on boards for Family Promise of Northern Shenandoah Valley, the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, and her church council.
She started her nonprofit career at the United Way of Central Carolinas in Charlotte, NC. Prior to that, she had a career as a television news producer for several local news stations in the Carolinas.
Jennifer is a native of Winchester, VA and a graduate of Sherando High School and Virginia Commonwealth University. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering and attending her son’s sporting events.
Emily Layhew, PharmD., MBA
Pharmacist in Charge
Dr. Emily Layhew graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Health Professions and Aquatic Therapy from West Virginia University. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration degrees graduating in 2018 also from West Virginia University.
Prior to taking her position with the Sinclair Health Clinic, Emily spent 6 years with Walmart Pharmacy. She worked as a pharmacy intern and staff pharmacist for the Martinsburg, WV location before becoming a pharmacy manager in Winchester.
Emily currently resides in Martinsburg, WV with her husband and daughter. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and being outdoors.
Rose Livengood
Lead Medical Provider
Rose Livengood has an extensive background in the medical field. She graduated from Shenandoah University 2010 with her bachelor's in nursing. She then completed a nurse residency program in Washington D.C., she then returned to SU to complete her master's in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015. Most recently, she completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Virginia.
As a floor nurse Rose's experience included renal transplant, medical-surgical, operating room/trauma, and inpatient physical rehabilitation. After graduating as an NP, she has focused on internal medicine.
Originally from Cumberland, MD, Rose has lived in Winchester for nearly 15 years. She enjoys backpacking, cycling, baking, gardening and spending time with family and her pets.
Nathan Lystrup
Family Nurse Practitioner
Nathan Lystrup graduated from Nevada State College in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and from Regis University in 2015 with a Master’s of Science and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
He has worked as a floor nurse on an Intermediate Care Unit for 3 years and two different Intensive Care Units for 5 years. He worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner for 4 years in Oregon before relocating to Winchester.
Nathan relocated to Winchester with his wife and 6 kids from Oregon in 2020. He enjoys spending time with his family, seeing the sites, being outdoors, gardening and working on projects around the house.
Lisa Farricker
Family Nurse Practitioner
Lisa Farricker is a Family Nurse Practitioner who comes from a nursing background focused on women and children's health. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from Shenandoah University in 2012 and her Masters Degree from Shenandoah University in 2020. Lisa began her nursing career in the emergency department and transitioned to the postpartum unit and newborn nursery at Winchester Medical Center. Lisa is originally from Connecticut and has lived in Winchester since 2010. She enjoys reading, creating art of all kinds, and spending time and making lots of that art with her young son.
